Established in April 1982, Army Public School Pathankot began its journey as a Regimental Garrison School under the aegis of HQ 21 Sub Area. Initially located in the re-appropriated buildings of the 5021 ASC Battalion within the military station near Sujanpur town, the school was originally named Army School Sujanpur. Over the years, the institution has grown steadily, expanding its academic offerings in a phased manner. Class X was introduced in 1985, with the first board examination conducted in 1986. The school added Class XI the following year, and the inaugural Class XII board examination took place during the 1987–88 academic session.
